Facilitating Document Reuse

The preparation of textual documents requires much time spent on finding related information and retrieving already written parts that can be embedded in the text or referenced. In this paper we present concepts and propose techniques to facilitate the configuration of the desired document and identification of reusable existing parts. Our approach is based on the idea of Active Documents extended with the adopted methods from Software Product Lines Engineering and Semantic Web Technologies, in particular, Variability Modelling and reasoning with ontologies, respectively.
